Hole

August 15, 2013

We’re in a hole in more ways than one.

So, today is the day we should have moved. And today is the day all of Steven’s furniture for his new flat is arriving.

The temporary plan for the next few weeks? months? years? is that Steven and I have our beds in the larger bedroom (not ideal and will probably mean even less sleep than normal). All the new furniture will be stored in the smaller bedroom.

Trying to create some space this morning, I moved my bed which has been in the same spot for four years and discovered that the floorboards have started to come away from the wall.

There’s a bloody big hole in the corner of the room.

It feels very unsafe. It certainly doesn’t feel safe for both Steven and I to be sleeping in this room for the next few weeks? months? years? But we can’t go into the other room as it isn’t big enough for two beds.

Trapped in a sodding huge hole.

Have you tried lbc radio as a help? Nick Ferrari has the Mayor’s ear and also on Thursdays he has the deputy PM answering questions on his show. Whilst I don;t agree with his politics he is like a dog with a bone- as can be the Daily Wail

  2. Time to give the landlady some headaches for a change then. Make her come and repair it IMMEDIATELY or get a COunty Court injunction.

You don’t live with a hole. You get the landlady urgently, tell her to fix it pronto get legal advice-isn’t it a requirement that properties which are let are fit for human habitation? Take photos, Send to everybody at Hilingdon-and all your media/legal friends-to show how you are being asked to live as a result of Hilingdon’s vindictive actions.
I’d also refuse to wait until the Housing worker returns from his/her vacation.Who is taking on the urgent cases in the meantime?
Please don’t get depressed with all this awfulness, keep going and make them jump.
